Looking for an atmospheric space for dinner or drinks with a group? Our Lounge offers the perfect setting for an intimate and convivial gathering. Located at the front of the hotel, the Lounge occupies the historic front building where Tjalling Joostes Halbertsma and his family once lived.


This cozy space exudes the charm of the past, combined with modern amenities such as a sound system. The Lounge's history is steeped in the spirit of Professor Halbertsma, who was not only a prominent professor at the University of Groningen but also a beloved figure in the city.


In 1900, the family home underwent a major renovation, with the foundation stone laid by Halbertsma's grandson. This marked the transformation of the building as we know it today, where the historic front section flows seamlessly into the new, bright, modern section.
